Welp, I've made the tough decision to retire this newsletter for the time being. It could come back one day in the future. Michael Jordan came out of retirement, why can't my little newsletter?
Why stop now, you might ask?
About a month ago I started building a local newsletter for the area I live in. It's been live for about a month and the email list has grown to just under 1,000 subscribers. You can check it out here: http://lbilowdown.com
Not a lot of people are building local newsletters so I've decided to carve that out as my little niche. My goal with the new local newsletter is to keep growing it via paid ads on Meta and organic Instagram posts. Once I hit around 5,000 subscribers, I'm going to try to monetize by pitching ad placements to local businesses. It's a great way for me to get more involved with my community too.
I plan to start posting more about my learnings on Twitter/X so if you're not already following me on there, be sure to join and follow along the journey! And thanks for everyone who has been a reader to THIS newsletter over the past year.
